Farewell, Autumn
by Supatra Sen / November 8th, 2026
The leaves have been shed
The earth holds them
In rich hues
Nature once adorned
Has let go of it all
Continuing the cycle
Of loss and renewal…
Season of mist fog and chill
Short days
A truant sun
Playing elusive on the balcony
And window sill
Futile to chase and hold the golden glow…
Time to say good bye
To all that was in full glory
Colours and harvest
Fullness and ripening
The year has drawn to an end
The daughter has departed
For her home in the hills
Life has nearly completed yet another cycle…
Time to bid farewell then
Adieu…
I will wait for your return
Knowing that one day
When everything seems bright and beautiful
I will have to let go of it all
And move on…
