Private Isabella Gonzales
Graduated from Hebron High School.
According to what her family says,
She impressed with buenos modales
And lived her life by the Golden Rule.
A teenager fighting dictators
Who slaughter teenagers by the score
Then justify, calling them traitors.
Private Gonzales fought those haters
Who’ve caused a half century of war.
Whatever one thinks of the timing
Or the Commander giving orders,
Those dictators deserve this sliming:
Their own folks they have been two-timing
While exporting death across borders.
Warfare often has more than one side.
Krishna faithfully serves Arjuna;
Krishna sends his army to abide
With Arjuna’s enemies who stride
Into battle to take Bharata.
Arjuna does not want this battle
Until Krishna shows him the true path:
As long as he does not seek chattel,
Arjuna won’t fear a death rattle
While unleashing this awful bloodbath.
A warrior wants nothing better,
Declares Krishna, than righteous combat.
Gonzales complied to the letter
Of her promise to help unfetter
A terrible machine of war that—
Once unleashed against those who declared
A campaign of extermination—
Set out to leave no tyrant unspared.
Now we mourn for one who truly cared
And honor her determination.
