As the mid term election approaches, the question remains whether President Trump has sufficient Presidential demeanor or strength of character to pull enough votes to save either GOP House of Congress from a Democratic sweep.
After almost two years in office and having presided over a GOP split between loyalists and Constitutionalists, Trump’s Zionist streak is undeniable as he fails to resonate with an America First campaign message he abandoned in deference to Israel.
Whether the Trump base returns to the GOP fold after its mid term convention or if Trump restores his Executive Constitutional authority, election results may be less informative over the long term as recent polling show Americans view both parties in a negative light.
The American public rate the GOP as 58% unfavorable while the Dems are 59% unfavorable, up from 36% in 2025.
In other words, whatever the election results, Congress may continue its dysfunctional pattern while the American public cannot be assured that its daily world, its economy and quality of life would seriously improve.
With its historic support for legislative initiatives that benefit another country, Congress continually proves it cares more about that country than the American homeland as it has accepted a willingness to fight its wars (ie Iraq and Afghanistan), sacrificing its own young people on behalf of another country and create a massive US debt partially to justify financial endowments to another country.

On the House side, as if the votes were already counted, pre-election endorsements of Rep. Hakeen Jeffries (NY) as Speaker of the House have begun in earnest.
At a time when rank n file Democrats show more support (49%) for Palestine and less support for Israel (13%), House Democrats have begun to acknowledge support for Israeli favorite Jeffries as the next House Speaker.
At which time, Jeffries took the initiative and recently appointed three pro Israel Members to conduct special tasks on the House Foreign Affairs Committee despite a Pew Center poll showing 60% of Americans have unfavorable views of Israel. The triumverate included Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fl), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fl) and Rep. Wesley Bell (D-Mo.).
The appointments drew immediate backlash within the Democratic caucus as being out of touch with Democratic voters. The Republican caucus meanwhile sits quietly in their places awaiting their electoral fate.
On June 23, three Democratic Socialists won their Democratic primary for NYC House seats although Darializa Chevalier and Clare Valdez have not yet endorsed Jeffries for Speaker; Brad Lander has indicated his support for Jeffries.
A week later in Denver, Democratic Socialist Milat Kiros won a Democratic primary defeating a thirty year incumbent has indicated she will not support “any one who accepts corporate PAC funds”.
Meanwhile, another Israeli favorite Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) was appointed Chair of the prestigious Middle East and North African Subcommittee in the Foreign Affairs Committee and will include oversight on State Department functions.
Such a sensitive committee position may put Lawler where the Greater Israel Project will benefit from his presence although his contribution to his own country may be marginal.
In his second House term, Lawler will work with Foreign Affairs Chair Brian Mast (R-Fl). who has been known to wear his IDF uniform to Congress.
As a Zionist supporter Lawler sponsored HR 6090, the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023 which was introduced in 2023 with 61 House co-sponsors but not adopted until May 1, 2024. With a final vote of 320-91 indicative of Israeli and AIPAC support within the House, 21 Republicans and 70 Democrats voted in opposition while 18 were Not Voting.
The final vote tally was one example of House disrespect for the First Amendment and a willingness to favor AIPAC if a No vote would have jeopardized their bequest.
HR 6090 has been awaiting Senate consideration without moving forward since the Senate has a reluctance due to blatant First Amendment violations of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
The ACLU flagged HR 6090 in an April 24, 2024 letter of opposition to the full House pointing out the Act’s First Amendment problems which failed to stop House enactment.
The ACLU identified the Act as a direct attack on the First Amendment and a threat to the censorship of political speech that may be critical of Israel on college campuses.
In addition. HR 6090 was inspired by President Trump’s Executive Order 13899 entitled “Executive Order on Combatting Antisemitism,” December 2019. As an early indication of the President’s lack of commitment to the First Amendment, the EO clearly identified a First Amendment violation and violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
In other words, antisemitism is not considered a First Amendment violation as all manner of speech is considered ‘protected speech’.

As the House met for the first legislative day of the 119th Session after its August recess, Rep. Thomas Massie offered an Impeachment resolution of eight articles on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth citing requiring a full House hearing to consider removing Hegseth from office. Those eight Articles included attacks on civilian population, illegal and unlawful wars in Iran and Yemen, kidnapping of Venezuelan President Maduro and extrajudicial killings.
During its first legislative day, Speaker Johnson suddenly adjourned the House until after the mid term elections in November. Massie suggested that a GOP headcount had found sufficient votes to support Hegseth’s impeachment; hence, a quick recess was called. as well as a delay on the Epstein Transparency Act II.
On the Senate side, a 90-6 vote to adjourn without adopting a Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government was adopted. The House had adopted a Continuing Resolution to fund the government prior to their August recess.
In addressing the fiscal element within the Continuing Resolution, neither legislative body made consideration of the $40 Trillion debt as sufficient reason to delay adjournment.

President Trump’s dismissal of potential AI dangers as a “hoax”, the President cited in a Truth Social post his usual self-flattery “The only control or “guardrails” that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!” while denying the need for AI regulations or endorsing the need for Data Centers which can be expected to drain enormous amounts of energy and water in daily usage.
Sen. Josh Hawley’s subcommittee opened a formal inquiry into OpenAI breaches while over one hundred House Dems urged Johnson to remain in Session to work across the aisle to address lack of AI guardrails.
Yet the mid term polls are predicting a huge victory for the Democrats, wishful thinking that the Dems will bring a substantial societal transformation may do little more than dramatically increase US illegal immigrants who expect free handouts in lieu of showing their gratitude by voting Democratic. Without signing up to become bona fide US citizens, the influx will prove the American political system is broken beyond repair.
In another political system crisis, Tucker Carlson released a recent summary of Trump’s latest gift of $2.8 billion (40 tons of bombs) to Israel. The request originated from the unhinged US Ambassador Mike Huckabee in Jerusalem with Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s approval.
The shipment represents largest transfer of conventional ordinance with no public review or Congressional oversight as an unprecedented shipment worth three times the power of a nuclear exchange is being provided ostensibly at no cost to the world’s most persistent warmongers.
However, Rep. Greg Meeks (D-NY) ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a supporter of Israel has indicated his obstruction of the bomb sale unless reassured that the bombs will be used in accordance with US and international law. Such assurance may be of little consequence, once the bombs have been delivered. If the Dems win control of the House, Meeks will become Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

President Trump’s approval polls continue to slide to 32% as long term supporters puzzle over how the President flipped on his promised goals : the duplicity of being a Peace President was perhaps the first to go as Trump had repeatedly vowed to end the Ukraine war on ‘day one.’
In retrospect, the truth may have been that Trump was never going to fulfill a multitude of campaign pledges and from the get-go, my own vibe was that he was going to cave on Ukraine.
Since he had often repeated the Ukraine promise, the early days after his January 20th inauguration revealed no movement to end the war. Since I have an interest in Russian foreign policy, I was hopeful Trump would wrap the conflict up quickly.
Assuming the President was getting himself organized and as soon as he had a full Cabinet on board, he would make the necessary move. Weeks went by and….nada.
What many Americans missed during the 2024 election was that Donald Trump had an alternative political agenda which remained obscure until after his Inauguration as the 47th President of the US.
And that political agenda included a steady itinerary for war: from Ukraine to the Houthis in Yemen at $1 Billion; then onto the Twelve day war with Iran and onto February 28 unprovoked attack on Iran with assassination of its religious leader and a Tomahawk attack on 175 school girls.
The Trump presidency gives new meaning to the term of Caveat Emptor (‘buyer beware’ ) especially with regard to political candidates. If mid term results favor the Democrats with a big score; control of both Houses of Congress – it may be less than optimistic that the First Amendment may not be better protected; all may not be as idyllic as anticipated.
Today, Trump failed to achieve his own objective compared to his Inaugural Day proclamation, “My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier. That’s what I want to be, a peacemaker and a unifier” as he continues support for Ukraine and remains stuck in the illegal quagmire with Iran.
Recently, Vice President JD Vance suggested “give us another chance” relegates the American people to deny their own well being or self interest or that of their families.

The country known as the United States of America is left to exist on its own with little natural, in-bred leadership of integrity; to struggle as if in an alternative universe, remote from its Constitutional roots or a moral presence once born in Liberty and Freedom; now embedded in a warped economic beast with no resolution; the kicker is Trump did it to himself with the assistance of a deceitful Congress who have no inclination to follow an America First path as neither partisan faction satisfies the political yearnings of the American public.
There was once an expectation that Trump would deep six the Deep State accompanied by a responsive, functioning legislative branch. However, given a necessary renaissance to erase evidence of the country’s malevolence; out of a full moral and financial bankruptcy, a rebirth of principle and character that values peace and tranquility, a renewal of divine providence that once graced the country’s Founders may be no longer be viable or deserving.
