Traveller

I belong nowhere
I have no destination
Sometimes I sail with clouds
Or wind and twirl with
Gushing mountain rivulets
Down the valley
I meet the boy with large curious eyes
Dashing through paddy fields
With his sister
For a view of the lightning express
Flashing past the sleepy station
And for a while I’m home
Till the road beckons
Again…

I meet the lone shepherd
Stepping lightly
On hill slopes
Gathering his flocks
Humming a folklore
It feels home once more
But after a while
A call
From far and beyond…
Enchanting as the Pied Piper’s flute
I ‘m compelled to leave behind all
Once more I’m on the move
Going nowhere
Searching no one
Haunted by the deep unknown…
