Animals Flee
by Ananya S. Guha / May 3rd, 2026
Bushes on fire
stalking prey
tiger in the den
houses burning.
I pray with all might
words unceasing, in
daylight’s mayhem
night unfolds in merciful
oblation.
Stalking ghosts
uncannily waver
rivers are merciless
so are men
Roads take home
the frisking continues
as
animals flee
