I Hope To Meet You On A Sunny Day
(in memoriam Simone Cattaneo)
by Ivan Pozzoni / October 25th, 2026
For me, in heartbeats weakened
by the echo of a life now reduced to its bare minimum,
the crisis was definitive,
a knot of no return from the lands of ghosts,
the crisis was definitive.
Wage supplementation fades, bank failures fade,
the stock market collapse fades, interest rates fade
in lands where everything fades, where i have become darkness,
groping in the shadow among electric votive wires
and funerary crumbs.
The crisis was definitive, victim of a self that is executioner,
wounded on the shards of my jagged teeth,
I hasten toward grim darkness, ceasing to recount
the margins, never healed, of the bruises of mankind.
I hope to meet you,
on a sunny day.
