A new report from Adalah: the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, documents how Israeli universities established a two-track disciplinary system for Palestinian vs. Jewish-Israeli students after Oct 7. We visualized their findings.

For Palestinian students, posting”a prayer, an expression of Palestinian identity, identifying or sympathizing with the residents of Gaza, or political criticism could lead to investigation, suspension, or expulsion.” Meanwhile, Israeli academic institutions ignored posts by Jewish Israeli students calling for the annihilation and genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The report shows that these practices are not isolated disciplinary measures, but part of a broader system that restricts Palestinian students’ rights and participation in academic life. By policing Palestinian identity, expression, and solidarity, Israeli academic institutions have contributed to the application of apartheid in the academic sphere, making participation conditional on silence and conformity.
