Defend the Truth

We’ve been taught so many things, what shall we believe?
Evil wants not to enlighten, but to deceive
We must learn discernment and not be so naïve
So let’s direct our minds to thoughtfully perceive

We’ve been distracted by many things, what catches our eye?
Evil wants not the truth, but to project a lie
We must learn endurance and not let hope die
So let’s protect our hearts, our faith we must not deny

We’ve been misled by many things, what can we conclude?
Evil wants not our welfare, but our servitude
We must learn vigilance and not be subdued
So let’s project our resolve, let our spirits be renewed

We’ve been damaged by many things, what plans were shaken?
Evil wants not our welfare, but to render us forsaken
We must learn our identity and not be mistaken
So let’s perfect our future, may our souls be awakened

We’ve been misguided by many things, what is our reaction?
Evil wants not our unity, but conflict and faction
We must learn true courage and not avoid due action
So let’s respect our conscience, defend the truth with no detraction!
