Joining Forces

Why do people make alliances with those they dislike?
Claiming one another’s glory, each other almost saint-like
What can be achieved when two are unequally yoked?
When all reason and honesty have been revoked

America and Israel are two such forces
The wrongs that Israel does, the U.S. endorses
Though their difference in philosophy is a sharp schism
One represents democracy, the other fascism

Politics brings strange bedfellows together
Like intentionally flying a kite in bad weather
Hoping in some way to avoid deadly lightning
Their stupidity abounds, their purpose is frightening

Why can’t solidarity be universal?
Let’s call all past failures – a bad rehearsal
There’s still opportunity to unite all good men
And put evil back in check once again

Man regrettably erects borders and apartheid walls
Converse to this division, the voice of freedom calls
The pretext for war is religion or national pride
Assassins prosper while many innocents have died

The culprits seem to abound from both the left and right
In this one common agenda, they shamefully unite
When will good men put aside their differences and enjoin?
Recognizing evil’s face is on both sides of the coin

It is the lust for control that is the root of all evil
These powerful entities join forces to cause upheaval
Man has been shown the way to help one another
To put aside all differences and learn to love each other
